Don T. Hirose, MAI, MRICS, is a Director in CBRE Valuation & Advisory Services’ Downtown Los Angeles office. He has over 30 years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience. Mr. Hirose specializes in the valuation of high profile industrial properties including defense plants, food processing and refrigerated warehouses, research and development facilities, heavy manufacturing plants, mega distribution complexes, business parks, and industrial land subdivisions for lenders, institutional investors, and private investors. He has managed the valuation of several international public refrigerated warehouse portfolios for lenders and public cold storage operators.
Mr. Hirose’s primary geographical territory encompasses Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties in California. He is a member of the International Valuation Team and the Industrial Valuation Group. Prior to his 30 years in the valuation group, Mr. Hirose was responsible for growing Coldwell Banker’s market research system in its nationwide expansion in the early 1980s. Mr. Hirose has testified under oath to the Los Angeles County Assessment Appeals Board, has served as an expert witness in the United States Bankruptcy Court and the Superior Court of the State of California. He has been designated as the “third party” appraiser in the settlement of numerous real estate appraisal disputes.
Mr. Hirose served as chairman, president, executive vice president and board member of Asian Business League from 1990 to 1994. In 2007, Mr. Hirose was elected as a member to Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics, for his expertise in real estate valuation of cold storage, freezer and food facilities.
