Professional Experience

As a Sr. Strategy Analyst on the MultiCare Healthcare System account, Edward is responsible for managing the furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) on capital construction projects.  He works closely with the clients, architects, contractors, vendors and project management team to plan, specify, procure and install major and minor equipment. A comprehensive equipment database is maintained consisting of inventoried and new equipment to assist in efficient project execution.  Eddie develops FF&E budget/cost reports and install/move schedules which are closely managed from inception to closeout.

Strategy & Planning – Edward has 23 years of healthcare experience of which the last 6 have focused on strategy and planning.  As a Strategy Analyst on the MultiCare Health System account, Edward supported the Strategy and Planning Team by evaluating client occupancy and space usage requirements for in-patient and out-patient facilities.  He was responsible for developing test-fit analysis, initial site programming, and high level project scopes for budget estimating. Accomplishments include:

Project Management – As a previous project manager Edward  was responsible for coordinating and managing major and minor renovation/remodel construction projects throughout the systems 40 primary outpatient and inpatient facilities. These projects ranged from minor interior improvements to inpatient unit refurbishment .  In his role he worked with hospital staff, leadership, architects, contractors, and local agencies developing project scope, project oversight, purchasing and budget management.

Facilities Management – Prior to MultiCare, Edward spent 3 ½ years working for the Texas Department of State Health Services in the city of Austin.  As a project and facilities manager at one of the largest public laboratories in the world, he was responsible for coordinating all activities related to the support and maintenance for the multiple building and lab systems. Edward served as the principle liaison between the architect, construction, and laboratory science staff to identify crucial design and infrastructure requirements for the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility.  Edward planned and managed the relocation of multiple lab sites across the state consolidating them into the new facility and directed all expenditures for the new building .

Logistics & Facilities Management – Edward served 10 years in the US Army as a Medical Service Corps officer with roles ranging from medical platoon leader, chief of supply operations and facility management to director of logistics.  Working in Combat Support Hospitals, Edward was responsible for the overall logistic support operations for a large 320 bed surgical field hospital to include unit motor and medical maintenance, unit supply, hospital utilities, laundry & bath, and property accountability. Whiles assigned to the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, the largest medical research activity in the Department of Defense, Edward headed the divisions for Supply Operations and Facility Management.  He was responsible for the facility management program to include animal husbandry and vaccine production facilities.   In addition, he had the unusual opportunity to serve as a non-scientist member of the Laboratory Animal Care & Use Committee providing input on lab animal reserch and it relivancy to the US military.
