A native Washingtonian, Gary Taubin started his career at Streetsense and has nearly 18 years of distinct retail real estate expertise in leasing, tenant representation and landlord representation. Gary has comprehensive experience as a real estate advisor to local, national and institutional landlords, retailers, restauranteurs and private equity businesses. Gary has concentrated his time and energy to establish an expert knowledge in D.C.’s urban retail landscape.
The scope of knowledge reaches from high street retail in the downtown area to neighborhood environments throughout Washington D.C. Gary has advised many retailers on their entrance into and expansion throughout Washington D.C. A sampling of present and past Tenant clients include; Tatte Bakery and Café, Nando’s Peri Peri, &pizza, Elevation Burger, Lovesac, Crate & Barrel, Scanlan Theodore, California Pizza Kitchen, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Mayweather Boxing, Pei Wei and many other great brands. On the Product side, Gary has represented Property Group Partners, Gelman Management, Morgan Stanley, JBG, CIM, Beztak Companies, and Wexford Capital.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters in Real Estate Finance from NYU. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Gary resides in Arlington, VA with his wife Margaret, his daughter Mila and their Goldendoodle, Jonesy.
