Henry Chin leads a global research team to identify the key forces influencing commercial real estate investors across all sectors.
An expert on capital markets, Henry has a keen interest in how placemaking and other innovations create value for investors. He collaborates closely with CBRE clients to help them understand the intricacies of property markets and make strategic investment decisions. He is a frequent guest on CNBC and Bloomberg, where he provides critical context for market dynamics, investment strategies, insights on real estate policies, and other important issues impacting commercial real estate.
After earning a Ph.D. in Real Estate Investment from Oxford Brookes University in the U.K., he moved into the private sector, first as lead Asian real estate analyst for DTZ and later as an executive at Deutsche Bank Group, where he helped lead the firm’s real estate strategy. Before joining CBRE in 2014, Henry was head of Asia Pacific research and strategy at PGIM (previously known as Pramerica Real Estate Investors), Prudential Financials Inc., where he was responsible for leading the company’s Asia Pacific real estate investment strategy as well as part of investment committee.
As part of CBRE’s Asia Pacific Strategic Group, Henry helps oversee CBRE’s strategic direction in the region. He has also served as CBRE’s Head of Research in EMEA from 2019 to 2020. Passionate about building the next generation of young real estate professionals, Henry also serves as a visiting professor at Oxford Brookes University and an assistant professor at National Taipei University (Taiwan).
Henry is based in Hong Kong and enjoys cooking, exploring different cuisines on his world travels, and spending time with his family in Taiwan. His favorite holiday destination is the Mediterranean region.
