Hisanao Kajiura

Hisanao Kajiura (Kaji) has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry covering a broad range of responsibilities, including Lead Project Director, Engineer, Planning Manager and Technical Manager. He has been involved in many complex, mega constructions in both Japan and abroad, most of which have very tight deadlines. He is fluent in both English and Japanese, and has been stationed in seven countries.

Having worked for Taisei Corporation (one of Japan’s mega design & build contractors) as well as ARUP (an international construction, design & technical services company) and other consulting companies, he is very familiar with foreign construction practices and has been assisting many international clients with complex assignments. Most of his projects include unique client requirements, technical challenges, strict programs, distinct procurement philosophies, and regional factors.

Leveraging on his broad and diverse experience, Kaji is an expert on innovative project procurement methods; comprehensive organisation strategy; engineering solutions; strategic construction planning; commercial management and risk management. Moreover, he is very familiar with contract administration, tender, procurement, all the various contract schemes such as conventional style, design and build, EPC, etc.

His language skills, international project background, breadth of knowledge and his excellent leadership skills have consistently enabled him to handle meetings efficiently, facilitating collaborative team work, reconcile international differences and resolve multinational construction issues and problems.
