James Hooks is part of a team specializing in the leasing and sale of industrial properties surrounding the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. With a career in commercial real estate going back to 2005, he added landlord representation to his list of capabilities when he joined his current team in 2022. Previously, he focused exclusively on tenant representation.
James is an apt negotiator and excels in creating lease terms favoring his clients. Over the course of his career, he’s advised several Fortune 500 companies in their real estate acquisitions and dispositions. His current roster of clients includes leading companies across the Greater Los Angeles region and beyond, and he has represented many large institutional owners in the acquisition, underwriting, and lease of industrial assets throughout Southern California. James draws from his deep bench of occupier representation experience to bring an intimate understanding of tenant needs to every assignment.
Working closely with fellow brokers John Schumacher and Bret Quinlan, James leverages invaluable connections to key personnel in the world port markets of Los Angeles/Long Beach, LAX, the Eastern Seaboard and major distribution points around the country. The team’s combined capabilities include local and multi-market tenant representation, with extensive experience in criteria development, site selection and consensus building for blend and extend, relocation, expansion, and consolidation assignments.
