James provides capital markets brokerage services to a wide range of clients including private, family office, and professional investors. With more than $11 million is closed transactions in 2020, James has a proven track record of successfully enabling his clients to achieve their goals in the fast-changing landscape of commercial real estate investing.

 

James concentrates in acquisitions and dispositions of apartment buildings in Los Angeles County, end-to-end 1031 exchange management, and facilitating the use of tax optimization tools that were historically utilized by only large institutional investors.

 

As a commercial real estate owner and investor himself, James intimately understands the dynamic California market. He is committed a consultative approach to his practice so he can tailor solutions to each individual investor’s return targets, risk tolerance, and lifestyle needs.

James’ prior experiences in education, finance, marketing, and sales allow him to deliver a comprehensive brokerage service to his clients.

 

Out of college in 2008, James taught high school in New York City through Teach For America, the AmeriCorps civil service program; an experience he credits with sharpening his communication and leadership abilities. In 2012 James honed his financial analysis skills as an Associate Underwriter in Corporate Risk at the insurance giant, AIG. Having moved back to his home state of California in 2013, James worked in finance, marketing, and sales positions in entertainment and software before joining CBRE as a Capital Markets Investment Associate in 2019.

 

James’ experiences proved immediately valuable to his real estate practice. Within his first six months at CBRE he was recognized with West LA’s Trailblazer designation for quickly and successfully establishing his real estate business.
