Jim Pfitzinger is the Senior Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer for CBRE Business Lending, a division of the company’s Debt & Structured Finance group that specializes in originating Freddie Mac Small Balance Loans. He was instrumental in the launch of the Small Balance Loan program at CBRE, which surpassed $1 billion in total lending volume after less than two years.
Prior to joining CBRE in June 2013, Mr. Pfitzinger was a vice president and senior portfolio manager of EverBank Business Property Lending, a unit of the bank that was acquired from GE Capital Real Estate in 2012. During his 17-year career at GE, Mr. Pfitzinger held leadership roles in risk and asset management within multiple divisions of the company, including Vendor Financial Services, Penske Truck Leasing, Small Business Finance and ultimately Business Property Lending.
While at GE, Mr. Pfitzinger’s significant achievements included the development and implementation of quarterly commercial real estate loan regulatory risk-rating processes for more than 5,000 loans with outstanding balances in excess of $12 billion; securing the bank-affiliate certification of a GE Capital real estate lending platform; and negotiating the sale of the Business Property Lending unit to EverBank.
Mr. Pfitzinger has particular expertise in the underwriting of owner/user real estate transactions and single-tenanted investor properties, as well as in managing high-performing risk and asset management teams. During his tenure at GE Capital he was delegated individual credit authority of $15 million and approved and funded in excess of $4 billion in transactions. Additionally, he has expertise in managing remote teams located around the world. Mr. Pfitzinger has extensive experience in the underwriting, closing, servicing, regulatory compliance, structuring and securitization of commercial real estate debt.
