Jeff A. Smith, MAI

Jeff Smith is the National Data Centers & Digital Infrastructures Practice Leader for the Valuation & Advisory Services platform. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for the group, as well as executing assignments. He has both consulted on, advised and appraised telecom (carrier) hotels, multi-tenant colocation and hyperscale facilities, powered base buildings, telecom equipment shelters, mixed-use assets possessing a substantial mission critical component and land. In addition to working throughout the United States, Jeff has completed data center assignments in Canada, Europe, South/Central America and Asia. With a robust background in real estate valuation, Jeff brings extensive experience from his previous roles at Cushman and Wakefield where he led the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Valuation Practices, as well as the National Data Center Practice.

Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated expertise in valuing a diverse range of property types including data centers, distribution centers, golf courses and country clubs, hotels/motels, commercial, residential and industrial land, leasehold interests, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, shopping centers, multifamily properties/student housing, regional malls, special purpose facilities and subdivisions. Jeff has more than 20 years of specialized valuation experience, including appraisal, and consulting assignments for ad valorem, asset management, due diligence, estate planning, financial reporting, lending and litigation purposes. In addition to acting as an appraiser, Jeff represents several clients as a tax consultant.

Jeff Smith began his real estate career in 1994 as an Associate with Integrated Loan Services, Inc. Over the years, he has also contributed his skills and knowledge at Joseph J. Blake & Associates, Roy F. Weston Company, and American Appraisal Associates.
