Jeffrey R. Whelan has been Senior Counsel for CBRE's Tri-State Area since 2002 and is responsible for corporate legal matters with an emphasis on drafting, reviewing and negotiating brokerage and agency agreements on behalf of CBRE. Mr. Whelan has served for more than ten years as CBRE's Conflicts of Interest Officer with respect to the DCAS contract.
Prior to CBRE, Mr. Whelan spent five years as Counsel for Cushman & Wakefield and acted as C&W's Conflicts of Interest Officer for a prior contract with DCAS.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Whelan served as Assistant General Counsel for the New York City Transit Authority and as Deputy Real Estate Director for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority where he directed a unit responsible for managing the planning, leasing, acquisition and disposition of real estate assets for the Long Island Railroad, the largest commuter railroad in the United States.
