Mr. Jesse Cooper joins the Assessment & Consulting team as a Senior Property Condition Assessor in the Northeast Division, offering ~14 years of experience in structural engineering design/consulting. Mr. Cooper possesses PE licensures in 9 states and offers expertise in design, construction document preparation, architectural engineering, building forensics, special inspections, building condition assessments, construction administration, construction logistics, and project management/delivery across a wide range of commercial and residential assets. His background spans more than 160 structural engineering design projects and 120+ forensic engineering inspections, giving him a deep technical foundation that enhances the quality, accuracy, and defensibility of property condition assessments.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cooper served as a Forensics Engineer Inspector with Envista Forensics, performing structural, civil, and architectural evaluations for building collapses, construction defects, water intrusion, fire damage, settlement, vibration claims, and other building performance issues and loss events. His work included collapse investigations and large-loss structural assessments for municipal and commercial properties. Mr. Cooper delivered signed and sealed technical reports per ASTM standards, providing clients with clear and defensible findings.
Mr. Cooper brings technical expertise across a range of structural systems, building envelopes and roof evaluations, condition assessments, and multidisciplinary field inspections. His background includes special inspections, ATC-20s, CAT zone deployments (Hurricane Sandy – NYC, Hurricane Helene/Milton – Georgia), developer transition reviews, structural deficiency investigations, and detailed reporting in accordance with industry standards.
Prior to joining Envista Forensics, Mr. Cooper worked for ~11 years at Severud Associates Consulting Engineers. A sample of noteworthy projects from Mr. Cooper’s Severud Tenure include Moynihan Station Train Hall, Waldorf Astoria Renovation, Vassar College Bridge Building, 2 Penn Plaza, 35 XV Condo, Brooklyn Nets HSS Training Facility, and David Goel Center for Theater and Dance.
With his extensive engineering background and real-world investigative experience, Mr. Cooper delivers strong technical rigor to the property condition assessment discipline and enhances the Northeast division’s ability to provide accurate, actionable due-diligence reporting for commercial real estate clients.
