As Executive Managing Director of Operations within the Asset Services business line, Jim Bilger has direct oversight of more than 70 business operations professionals who are positioned to implement and lead various business operational initiatives for our employees and investor clients, including: standard business policies and procedures (Global Standards) Digital Strategy (CBRE 360, Axis Portal and Asset View), Learning & Development, Business Services, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment), and Procurement.

Mr. Bilger participates on CBRE’s Asset Services Global Executive Committee that is focused on the coordination of all programs, platforms and services to be connected and integrated globally. Mr. Bilger ensures consistency of the company’s property-focused CBRE Global Standards, a standardization of global policies and procedures used across CBRE's managed portfolio; CBRE Standards of Excellence, a customer service program that he introduced in 1999 and remains used today; and the Environments for Excellence, a property review program that assures our managers are embracing the CBRE Global Standards.

Mr. Bilger joined CBRE in 1991 and has a background in property management and experience with Class "A" high-rises, super tall buildings, industrial parks and retail properties. His previous roles included being the lead property management consultant of Shanghai Tower, the world’s second tallest building of 620,000 square meters (6.2 million square feet). In addition, Mr. Bilger was Senior Director overseeing a portfolio of more than 10 million square feet in Los Angeles where he focused his talents in the operations arena by becoming the Asset Services Director of Operations for the Western Division. He then became Senior Managing Director of Operations for the U.S. prior to his current role.

Mr. Bilger currently sits on the board of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat where he helps to share his property management experience with developers, architects, structural and technical engineers and real estate academia.
