As a Senior Vice President in CBRE’s advisory and transaction services group, Joe Coleman specializes in office leasing in downtown Washington, D.C. With 20 years of experience in the District’s commercial real estate market, Joe advises both landlord and tenant clients on strategic real estate decisions and leasing transactions.
Regarded as a trusted advisor by his clients, Mr. Coleman has worked on several high-profile listing assignments and gained experience in counseling his clients on executing ground-up new-construction office buildings, re-positioning office buildings, as well as re-branding and re-leasing existing office buildings. He has worked with some of the most prominent developers, owners and investors in D.C. real estate, including Skanska, Jamestown, Willco, Commonwealth Partners, Union Real Estate, Brunei Investment Authority, The Lenkin Company and Hines. Mr. Coleman’s transactions have been featured in local news and real estate trade publications and have received industry awards from the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association (CREBA) of Greater Washington and NAIOP D.C.
A native Washingtonian, Mr. Coleman also uses his insightful knowledge of the Washington, D.C. market to advise Fortune 500 companies, law firms, not-for-profit groups, and additional office users on real estate strategy. His experience working on both the landlord and tenant sides of the negotiation table allows him to give his clients a unique perspective that brings value to each transaction. Joe is a past member of the D.C. Real Estate Group, an exclusive organization of 275 up-and-coming commercial real estate professionals under the age of 40. He recently served as Co-Chair of the 2022 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s Real Estate Games, helping to raise over $600,000, the second-highest fundraising year ever for the organization.
Joe graduated with a B.A. from Villanova University and received a Master's degree from Georgetown University. He resides in Potomac, MD with his wife Kate and their four children.
