John Donohue

John T. Donohue is an Associate Director with the New York Tri-State Asset Services team of CBRE—which actively manages a diverse 70 million-square-foot real estate portfolio with annual gross operating revenue exceeding $70 million and a market value in excess of $14 billion. In this dynamic role, John is directly responsible for the daily management of corporate and investor client operations and providing management, leasing and financial services to owners of office, industrial and retail properties. Appreciated for his proactive, rigorous approach as well as his unique understanding of and experience in the most complex real estate transactions from acquisition through disposition, John provides solutions and knowledge that optimize the performance and enhance the value of client assets.

Prior to joining CBRE, John held asset management, acquisitions and operations positions of increasing responsibility with notable real estate investment companies including Greenfield Partners and within the local operating partner network of Lubert Adler Real Estate Funds. As a diversified real estate professional, John brings extensive experience in asset management, acquisitions, development/construction, debt/equity capital markets, accounting, property management/operations, leasing, marketing and operating partner/investor relations to his role. John has successfully acquired and asset-managed approximately $2 billion of real estate transactions through multiple investment partnerships.

Before starting his real estate career in 2003, John served for more than four years on active duty as a Combat Arms Officer and Airborne Ranger in the United States Army—directly after graduating from Loyola University Maryland. John completed the Basic Combat Training Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Psychological Operations Course, Airborne School and Ranger School. John was awarded the prestigious Ranger Tab and the coveted Parachutist Badge, and his additional awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.

John’s previous experience and accomplishments in real estate investment and management, paired with his solid background in business and high-quality transferable skill set of leadership, training and execution earned while serving in the United States Army, are all qualities that make him a valuable member of the CBRE Asset Services team.
