John Farrell joined the CBRE Debt & Equity Finance Group (DEF), CBRE’s investment banking arm in 1984. He served as DEF’s Southeast Regional Managing Director with a territory from Washington DC through Miami. In addition to his regional leadership duties, his responsibilities include loan origination, negotiation and structuring of debt and equity investments and is involved in developing new client relationships with owners/developers, lenders and equity investors.
With over 30 years in the commercial real estate investment banking industry, Mr. Farrell has arranged in excess of $5 billion in financing. He has successfully provided capital for all product types with a geographic concentration in the Southeast and has cultivated strong relationships with the country’s leading Life Companies, many of which he served in various advisory capacities.
Mr. Farrell was a Principal at Shoptaw-James Inc., the predecessor to CBRE Debt & Equity Finance. Prior to his mortgage banking career, he was an Audit Manager with Price Waterhouse Cooper, where he began his professional career spending a total of 6 years in their New York and Atlanta offices and specialized in commercial banking.
