John Morris is currently Senior Vice President at CBRE within the firm’s Advisory & Transaction Services group based in Chicago, IL. He specializes in providing full tenant representation services and multi-market transaction management strategies for our clients’ diverse global real estate portfolios, including acquisition, disposition, and market analysis projects. With over 30 years of experience in real-estate, he is driven, dynamic and client-focused to produce world class results for the clients he teams up with.

John is currently responsible for executing and delivering transaction management & relocation services for the Allstate Insurance Company and Abbott Laboratories. Over the past 30 years, John has worked extensively on overall strategy to reduce costs and space efficiency for our Fortune 200 clients. During this period, he has completed over 850 transactions representing approximately 16.0M square feet of industrial and office space requirements throughout the world.

Most recently in 2023 completed an expansion and extension for fortune 100 medical device company, negotiated to maintain the favorable current rent structure on the existing 110,000 square feet space through 2024 then extending an additional 5 years. Simultaneously, the expansion space commences immediately and extend for an additional 5 years starting January 2025. This strategic approach not only saved the client planned capital expense on their current suite allowing them to control the entire building.

In 2020 to date, amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked with a fortune 100 insurance company to develop a plan to divest surplus assets and identify new locations tailored to meet the evolving requirements of in-office employees. The execution of this strategic plan resulted in an impressive 32.1% savings.

He completed a total 154,294 SF relocation of a region office requirement in Houston, TX in 2020.

2019, he completed a 216,484 SF, 20-acre HQ office campus requirement in Alameda, CA, and in.

John began working for CB/Madison in 1996, now branded as CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services. Prior to that he was the Midwest Information Services Coordinator where he oversaw a department of researchers and mappers that provided CBRE its vacancy, absorption, and availability numbers along with oversight of the geographic mapping department.
