John Planeta is an Executive Vice President at CBRE and is based in Toronto, Ontario. As a top-producing broker for CBRE nationally, he holds a leadership role in the company's Global Integrated Logistics Practice and its Receivership Services platform. Over his stellar 30+ year career, John has managed some of Canada's largest and most complex supply chain real estate transactions and a significant number of receivership and creditor protection assignments. He has completed nearly 3000 assignments globally.
Global Integrated Logistics
John works with large multi-national firms and specializes in strategic planning, network design, lease arbitrage, development, and finance. With expertise in supply chain management, his team addresses key cost drivers including location, labour, and transportation. Along with a global team of experts in their field, he helps clients navigate the complexities of global trade and logistics infrastructure including software and WMS. Ultimately, the objective is to reduce occupancy costs using a wide menu of proven value add and proprietary programs.
Receivership Services
John recently led a team of brokers on a multi-property assignment spanning the U.S. and Canada. This project resulted in the disposition of over $700M of industrial facilities on behalf of secured creditors. Previously, he worked with receivers on the disposition of over 3.0M sq. ft. of distribution space across Canada. Understanding the importance of reporting and diligence is a key to successfully completing court related transactions.
Alongside his team, bespoke programs are designed that deliver significant transactional value while ensuring client objectives are met. John always delivers exceptional value, and his vast experience and wealth of knowledge provides clients with comfort and reassurance throughout the process.
