Madeleine Barber is a senior executive at CBRE
Previously, she served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer with responsibility for all aspects of CBRE’s Global Accounting and Controllership functions, Global Treasury operations and capital planning and Global Tax function.
Ms. Barber has over 30 years of global corporate tax and finance leadership experience, driving and enabling long-term value creation through tax and financial leadership roles. Her experience spans a broad spectrum of complex tax and finance matters, in varied business situations, supporting large public companies in diverse industries.
Ms. Barber joined CBRE in December 2016 as Chief Tax Officer. In 2019 she assumed additional responsibility for CBRE’s Global Treasury function. In July 2020, her responsibilities were further expanded to include CBRE’s Accounting functions, including Controllership, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting and SoX.
Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Barber was Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer of Tyco International Plc. While at Tyco, Madeleine was part of the senior leadership team and a member of the CEO’s Executive Council and played a key role in leading the company through significant transformative change, including two highly-complex spin-off transactions resulting in the creation of six publicly traded companies and the merger of Tyco with Johnson Controls in 2016. As a senior finance executive, Ms. Barber’s responsibilities were expanded to include leading the Company’s global finance transformation initiative to develop and implement a new finance operating model to drive greater efficiencies and service capabilities within the finance function.
Ms. Barber began her career at Arthur Andersen LLP and became a partner in 2000. In 2002, she joined KPMG as a tax partner in the International Tax Practice working primarily with Fortune 100 clients.
