Matthew Zavitsanos, MAI, AI-GRS

Matthew Zavitsanos, MAI, AI-GRS is a commercial real estate appraiser with over 13 years of experience. Matthew began his appraisal career with CBRE in 2011 and has extensive experience working on complex valuation matters in both the public and private sectors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and a Masters of Business Administration from Florida State University in 2023. He also holds the MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. Matthew recently returned to CBRE, where he supports valuation and advisory assignments across a wide range of property types. His work emphasizes sound methodology and advanced analytical techniques.

Prior to rejoining CBRE, Matthew worked for the IRS’s Large Business and International Division, where he conducted valuations related to partnership interests, charitable contributions, conservation easements, and estate and gift matters. His work included appraisal review under USPAP Standards 3 and 4 and involved mentoring junior staff. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Appraiser and Appraisal Review manager at the Florida Department of Revenue, Property Tax Oversight, providing oversight and technical guidance on commercial valuations across all 67 counties.

Prior to his public service, Matthew held valuation roles at KPMG, Integra Realty Resources, and Cushman & Wakefield, where he gained broad exposure to complex assignments across a wide range of property types. His work supported institutional clients, Fortune 500 companies, and financial institutions for financial reporting, underwriting, acquisition, and tax compliance. He completed valuations ranging from $1 million to over $200 million.
