Melisa Preus is a Vice President with CBRE Retail Services in Hawaii. Born and raised in Hawaii, Melisa has been involved in commercial real estate for over 20 years.
Her current assignments include Ground Lease, Retail, Office and Industrial projects with national brands such as Spectrum (Charter), AT&T, Panda and Raising Canes and Footlocker, in addition to a number of local specialty concepts such as Kealopiko, Land & Sea, Big Island Candies, Leahi Health Bar, Repetti's, Chubbies, Arvo, Salvage Public, Mori Art and Flea, Kamukura Ramen, etc.
Prior to joining CBRE, Melisa was Vice President at The Howard Hughes Corporation, as the Principal Broker and oversaw all aspects of leasing for the Ward Village, comprised of up to approximately 1.3 million square feet of commercial space in addition to collaborating with the development team on future retail plans. She identified opportunities for creating value, income and increased performance by working with major national tenants, such as Whole Foods and CVS, and ground-up retail developments to include Merriman's, Istanbul, Straub and the South Shore Market.
Prior to The Howard Hughes Corporation, Melisa was a Group Vice President of Business Development and Leasing Representative for General Growth Properties where she worked on their Hawai'i assets, including Ala Moana Center, Ward Village, Whaler's Village and Prince Kuhio Plaza.
In addition to her over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Melisa has seven years of retail management experience with various national retailers where she oversaw 10 departments and over 75 employees.
