Melissa Berardi

A Director for CBRE Project Management’s Building Sustainability Consulting team in North America, Melissa Berardi is responsible for managing the entire third-party certification process and developing ESG strategies by providing a multi-disciplinary approach to understand her client’s objectives and then drawing the connection to the environmental and lifecycle impacts of the chosen certification pathways. Throughout each phase of the project, she provides technical and strategic oversight and due diligence to design and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of sustainability goals. With her background in a wide cross section of the industry, and eye for detail, Melissa delivers innovative solutions while guaranteeing that the project follows the established timeframe and budget, acting as an advocate for her clients throughout the process.

Melissa has experience in a variety of rating systems and certifications including: Green Globes, WELL, WELL Health & Safety Rating, Fitwel, BREEAM In-Use, LEED V3 and V4, New Construction, Commercial Interiors, Homes, Schools, Retail, and LEED Volume.

Prior to joining CBRE, Melissa spent 19 years embedded in the architecture and engineering industry where she managed the LEED Certification process and sustainability consulting for clients and provided training and education to architects, building owners and property managers. In addition to sustainability consulting, she has extensive project management experience driving scope, schedule and budget for both internal team management and external client projects. Melissa has led projects on the local, national and international level and has experience working with a wide variety of clients in the corporate, financial, higher education, design, and governmental platforms.
