Nicholas McAteer leads CBRE Energy's M&A service, advising clients on energy infrastructure transactions and capital raising. Nicholas manages the full lifecycle of these deals, from origination through execution, and maintains relationships across the team's extensive network of power market stakeholders, including developers and financing parties. His approach combines financial rigor with market intelligence to structure transactions that deliver value while managing execution risk.
With a background spanning investment banking and energy structuring, Nicholas brings deep expertise in financial modeling, market analysis, and commercial deal execution. His experience includes structuring 2GW+ of complex offtake agreements such as VPPAs and battery tolling arrangements, positioning him to evaluate assets and transactions through both financial and operational lenses. Nicholas's work focuses on identifying opportunities in evolving energy markets and advising clients through transactions that create measurable returns while minimizing downside exposure.
Nicholas earned a B.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Business Analytics and a minor in Economics from the George Washington University.
