Rick Smith, Senior Managing Director is regional director for 30+ client accounts within CBRE’s Global Corporate Services (GCS) Project Management business across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and South Central United States. Responsibilities include the operational performance of existing client accounts and new client business solutions. Key focus areas benefiting clients include the integration of CBRE service line functions, talent identification / development, connectivity and best practice sharing across CBRE’s business units in pursuit of operational excellence.
Key strengths and expertise are in the areas of risk management, sustainability (LEED® Commercial Interiors and New Construction), client account transitions, project process management, and organization skills.
Previously, Rick Smith served as the Senior Managing Director for the Global Project Management Platform. In this role, Rick held global repsonsibility for the Project Management service line platform supporting successful, value-added delivery of client programs and projects. Areas included talent development and retention; process optimization and consistency; technology solutions; governance and risk management; strategic sourcing; marketing; and financial management. Connected knowledge areas globally across the Americas, EMEA, APAC and India. Rick also served as the Nations Bank (now Bank of America) Project Management account leader where he was responsible for leading an organization of 300 project professionals across the Eastern US delivering client solutions for administrative, critical facilities and retail projects.
Prior to joining CBRE, Rick Smith worked with BellSouth (now AT&T) in the telecommunications industry where he was responsible in various capacities from Property Manager in facilities management, to Regional Manager in planning, energy & environmental management, and construction of telecommunications facilities and administrative offices.
