Robert (Rob) Ruzza is the VP, Specialty Leasing for the US Mall & Large Format Retail platform, assisting with the oversite, strategy, and performance of the Specialty Leasing program across the portfolio. Rob works directly with the teams at each asset to ensure that the quality of programs and other deliverables are aligned with the objectives of each asset. Rob also secures deals with national and regional companies, investigates process improvement and emerging technologies, and develops financial reporting for the team.

Rob has been in the commercial real estate industry since 2003. He has worked at the local, regional, and corporate levels at two large global REITs – SIMON and Westfield. Performing in the roles of Senior Leasing Director, Regional Director, Leasing Director, and Specialty Leasing Manager. Rob started his career at Westfield working on an asset that was undergoing a full-scale redevelopment, and then continued working on assets in various stages of development throughout his career. Rob has worked on all phases of expanding GLA, repurposing GLA, and new ground up construction. He has also worked on due diligence teams for new large-scale projects, and the acquisition and disposition of large retail assets.

Rob worked on the local mall team at Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ before joining the regional teams in the Southwest and Northeast. While in the Southwest he worked on assets in San Diego, LA, and Palm Desert. Most notable is UTC in La Jolla, CA, where he was part of the early planning for that major redevelopment project. While in the Northeast he worked on assets in NY, NJ, and CT. Most notable are Garden State Plaza where he worked on their 3rd and 4th center expansions, and World Trade Center where he worked on the initial retail strategy and revenue models for the Oculus.

Rob then moved to the corporate level at SIMON working on their national Premium Outlet Portfolio. He was on the corporate Leasing team as a Senior Director managing national accounts and new business development. During his seven years there, Rob was involved in twelve new ground up centers in the US and Canada, and numerous expansions and redevelopment projects. Most notable are Woodbury Commons in Central Valley, NY, Orlando Vineland and Orlando International in Orlando, FL, Desert Hills in Cabazon, CA, Las Vegas Premium North in Las Vegas, NV, San Francisco Premium in Limerick, CA, and Toronto Premium in ON, Canada.

Prior to joining CBRE Rob obtained his real estate License and was a national consultant and retail broker in the NY Metro. He partnered with Clifton Realty, SABRE Advisors and Seritage on several local retail assets. Most notable were two new mixed use projects Heritage Village in Hicksville, NY, and Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ.
