Professional Experience
As the Director of Decarbonization, Sarah provides leadership and support to CBRE’s Fortune 500 clients to accelerate their decarbonization efforts across their real estate portfolios. Prior to her role with CBRE, Sarah was a senior manager of technical services at McKinstry, a 60-year-old organization that designs, builds, operates, and maintains high-performance, energy-efficient buildings to ensure resiliency as well as the comfort, productivity, and safety of the people who occupy them. There she led a team of internal stakeholders to build partnerships and deliver projects focused on executing sustainability, energy and decarbonization performance.
Sarah is a practitioner and thought leader with 17 years of valued energy and sustainability expertise who is passionate about solving for the climate crisis. She drives decarbonization, resiliency, occupant health, social equity, and sustainability to assure compliance and management of risk for organizations.
Sarah was also a lecturer for the University of Colorado’s Environment and Sustainability School where she also wrote and developed a curriculum, LEED Lab, in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED Lab is experiential learning for LEED certification where students gain hands-on experience in the LEED process.
