Sean Sargeant, MAI, SRA

Mr. Sean Sargeant located in Greenville, SC serves as a Vice President for the CBRE Valuation & Advisory team servicing the southeast division. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Sargeant previously served as Director of Product and Process Engineering at Duracell, Gillette, and Procter & Gamble, where he led product design and engineering across seven global manufacturing facilities. With over 35+ years of experience; Mr. Sargeant will primarily focus on specialty industrial, sustainable energy, and complex property types.

Mr. Sargeant has appraised a wide variety of real property including land, residential, mixed use, office, industrial, and retail. He has been admitted as an expert in real property valuation in U.S. Federal Court, several superior courts, and other tribunals including boards of partition and assessed value hearings to include specializing in the valuation of heavy industrial and complex properties as well as appraisals for estates, trusts, and IRS tax returns.

Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Sargeant worked for Cushman & Wakefield where he served as a senior director focusing on industrial type properties. Mr. Sargeant has an interest and expertise in green and sustainable properties and holds inventorship on 13 US Patents: 5491038, 5532081, 5759713, 5962158, 6025090, 6042967, 6080506, 6127062, 6143439, 6235422, 6495284, 6514637, and 6526799: all related to battery technology.

Mr. Sargeant is a respected leader within the Appraisal Institute, having served as Chapter President and played a key role in shaping national education initiatives. He currently serves on the Institute’s National Education Committee and is the lead developer of upcoming seminars supporting the redesigned Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR), including Income Approach and the new URAR and, Defects, Damages & Deficiencies. In May 2025, Mr. Sargeant was selected by the Appraisal Institute to serve as editor for the building improvement and green energy sections of two cornerstone publications: The Appraisal of Real Estate, 16th Edition, and The Dictionary of Real Estate Appraisal, 8th Edition
