D. Spence Hughes, MAI

Spence Hughes, MAI is a Vice President for CBRE Valuation & Advisory Services based in Houston. Mr. Hughes co-leads the residential development team, which focuses on build-to-rent and single-family rental communities, townhome developments, and residential condominium projects as well as residential subdivision analysis and general land development appraisals. Prior responsibilities included multi-family residential valuations including garden, mid-rise, high-rise, and mixed-use developments, in addition to student housing.

Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Hughes served as an appraiser with Collier’s International as a generalist with experience in numerous property types including industrial, office, net-leased and multi-tenant retail, vacant commercial and residential land, as well as specialty properties including hospitality and car washes throughout Texas. His past work also includes extensive right-of-way experience with Allen, Williford & Seale throughout the nation.

Mr. Hughes grew up in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin prior to beginning his appraisal career in 2011. Mr. Hughes currently holds an MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute.
