Steve Lewis

Steve Lewis, MAI, joined CBRE in 1999 and currently serves as the Houston area Multifamily Specialty Practice Leader and Senior Vice President in the firm’s Houston, Texas office. Steve has more than 30 years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience working for financial institutions, insurance companies, attorneys, federal agencies, operators, and developers. Steve specializes in the valuation of investment-grade multifamily communities for all types of lenders. His experience includes all residential property types (low-rise, midrise and high-rise) ranging from standard, two-story, garden-style communities to luxury apartment complexes and student housing, both existing and proposed. Steve also has significant experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac compliant assignments. This experience relates to numerous encumbered developments operating under an affordable housing program for local, state, and federal agencies.

Steve Lewis also leads the Student Housing Valuation Group. This group has extensive experience in the valuation of student housing related properties including lease by the bed, dormitory, Co-op houses, and traditional lease by the unit apartments located near university campuses. This group maintains an extensive database of enrollment trends, construction costs, income and expense trends, and occupancy trends for all the major student housing markets in the U.S. Steve holds appraisal licenses in: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi.
