Stuart Smith is an Associate with CBRE’s national Data Center Solutions Team, based in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the firm in 2024, working under Senior Vice President, William Hassan.
Stuart focuses on site selection for hyperscale, AI, colocation, and enterprise data centers across the continental United States. His expertise lies in evaluating power infrastructure, connectivity options, and risk factors crucial for critical facility clients.
Prior to joining CBRE, Stuart began his career as a junior broker at Marsh McLennan, where he focused on brokering treaty reinsurance placements for insurance company portfolios. During his early career and following his tenure at Marsh McLennan, Stuart worked under a private equity advisor, concentrating on data center site selection, financing, and real estate acquisition.
Stuart holds a degree in Supply Chain Management and Economics from the University of Arkansas, Walton School of Business. During his academic career, he completed an internship in electrical manufacturing with Atkore, focused on supply chain and economics for electrical manufacturing products.
