Thomas has 25+ years of experience in commercial leasing across multiple property types including: regional enclosed/open-air shopping centers, mixed-use urban centers, lifestyle centers, strip centers, and out parcels. As a proven leader who has built up an extensive client base and established a strong reputation, Thomas brings extensive knowledge of the retail industry. As Vice President of Retail Leasing in his previous roles at QIC, a government-owned investment company based out of Brisbane, and Forest City Enterprises, Thomas was responsible for negotiations of new deals, relocations, and renewals, implementing merchandising mix strategies, maintaining property partnership relationships, formulating annual budgets to drive occupancy and NOI, training of new associates and being a team player coordinating leasing efforts between legal, tenant coordination and management.

VICE PRESIDENT RETAIL LEASING, QIC & FOREST CITY ENTERPRISES

• Ballston Quarter, Arlington, VA: Urban mixed-use lifestyle center- This $350M redevelopment, formerly known as Ballston Commons, opened in September 2018. The center consists of four levels with 330,000 sf of small shop retail including restaurants, entertainment, specialty, and service. It is anchored by Macy’s, Regal Cinemas, 400 unit / 22 story residential tower, and Kettler Iceplex home to the NHL Washington Capitals practice facility with two indoor ice rinks.
• Short Pump Town Center, Richmond, VA: Regional open-air lifestyle center anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, Dillard’s,Dicks, and Hyatt House and over 540,000 sf of small shop retail. Completed the ten year anniversary remerchandising roll of the center with notable additions including: LL Bean, Soft Surroundings, Athleta, Anthropologie, Sephora, Free People, Apple (expansion), Altar’d State, Lilly Pulitzer, Madewell, Tumi, Kate Spade, Untuckit, Oakley, Old Navy, Chick-9lA, Rock Bottom Brewery, Texas de Brazil, Boathouse, Capital One Cafe, Chase Bank (outparcel), Arhaus (outparcel), Container Store (outparcel).
• Shops at Wiregrass, Tampa, FL (New Development): Open-air regional lifestyle center anchored by Dillard’s, Macy’s, JCPenney, Barnes & Noble, and 358,000 sf of small shop retail. Responsible for the initial lease up of this new development that opened in 2008 at 85% occupancy.
• Mall at Robinson, Pittsburgh, PA: Regional enclosed mall anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, Sears, Dicks and 383,000 sf of small shop retail.
• Mall at Stonecrest, Atlanta, GA: Regional enclosed mall anchored by Dillard’s, JCPenney, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Sears, AMCTheater and 357,000 sf of small shop retail.
• Village at Gulfstream, Ft. Lauderdale, FL: Mixed-use, open-air lifestyle center of retail, restaurants, and entertainment including a casino and clubhouse for Gulfstream Park, home of the Florida Derby.
