Tom Gaffney has led CBRE’s leasing business in Asia Pacific since August 2025, overseeing more than 2,000 professionals in 15 markets across the region. Tom develops growth strategies for the leasing business across office, retail, industrial & logistics, supply chain, data centers, workplace strategy and consulting with a focus on strategic recruiting, data superiority, platform excellence and global connectivity.
Prior to his current role, Tom was responsible for all of CBRE’s Advisory Services business activities in North Asia, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Korea.
Tom joined CBRE in 2016 as Managing Director for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, bringing broad experience in investment, commercial transactions and advisory. He previously was with JLL where he served as Head of Retail, Hong Kong and Mainland China and was a member of its Global Retail Board and co-chairman of Retail for Asia Pacific.
Earlier, Tom worked for Hongkong Land in Commercial and Retail Asset Management, holding positions in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. Originally based in Singapore where he was responsible for the regional retail asset management and leasing of Hongkong Land’s South Asia retail portfolio, he later served as General Manager and Country Head of Thailand and was responsible for the management and leasing of their luxury shopping mall, Gaysorn.
