Mr. Kennedy began his real estate career in Houston during 1985 with Coldwell Banker, the predecessor to CBRE. In 1988 he moved into the commercial mortgage banking business with the Robert C. Wilson Company, primarily focusing on life insurance company representation. Tracy Kennedy joined CBRE Debt & Structured Finance’s Austin office in 1997 to oversee its’ mortgage operations for Central Texas. In addition to originating commercial mortgages in Austin and San Antonio, Mr. Kennedy is active nationally including the Southeast, West, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast as well as Dallas and Houston.
During Mr. Kennedy’s 35 year mortgage banking tenure, he has established a business practice predicated on serving in an advisory capacity and providing his clients with the optimal financing source and structure for any given assignment. In order to provide his clients with optimal execution, Mr. Kennedy has established deep relationships with diversified sources of capital ranging from Agency/GSE, FHA, Life Company, and CMBS for conventional term financing, bank and specialty bridge lenders for construction and bridge loan products, as well as arranging equity joint ventures, participating debt ventures, and mezzanine loan facilities.
In each of the last sixteen consecutive years, Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Colbert Coldwell Circle, which recognizes the top 100 commissioned professionals in CBRE nationally; furthermore, in each of the past eleven years, Mr. Kennedy has been recognized in the top 20 commissioned professionals company-wide. Mr. Kennedy has been one of the top 10 commissioned professionals across any CBRE business line in the Americas in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Mr. Kennedy is consistently one of the top ten loan producing professionals in the CBRE Debt & Structured Finance division and was the #1 originator in 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Mr. Kennedy is recognized as one of the top multifamily loan and agency originators in the company.
