Veronica Hayden has nearly 13 years of experience managing corporate giving initiatives and is currently the Global Director of CBRE Cares, the company's community investment and employee volunteerism program. In her role, she oversees grantmaking, employee volunteerism and giving, and disaster relief. Since joining CBRE in 2021, Veronica has established a dedicated CBRE Cares team, created a strategic grant program and revamped the volunteer program. Her innovative leadership of the volunteer program has, through her team’s efforts, driven a remarkable global surge in employee participation, growing from fewer than 5,000 reported volunteer hours in 2021 to over 75,000 annually.
Previously, Veronica worked at Xcel Energy, where she managed annual grant programs in eight states and collaborated with various teams to execute Xcel Energy Foundation initiatives. At Arizona Public Service (APS), she led the restructuring of APS Foundation operations and managed a $3 million partnership portfolio primarily focused on STEM education.
Veronica began her career at Fiesta Bowl (Arizona Sports Foundation) as an Event Coordinator, responsible for planning the annual Fiesta Bowl Parade and other events. She later became the Volunteer Services Manager, establishing the position to increase the effectiveness of a more than 1,500-person volunteer program.
Veronica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Louisiana State University. The Association of Corporate Contribution Professionals (ACCP) has recognized her as an emerging leader, and she is a member of B:Civic Colorado and Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship.
