William Vonderfecht is Executive Vice President and co-Head of the CBRE National Student Housing team based in Dallas, Texas. He advises owners on the sale, recapitalization and equity placement of purpose-built student housing across the United States.
Mr. Vonderfecht represents sellers of single assets and portfolios, including core, core-plus, value-add, opportunistic, lender-owned and distressed properties. He prices and positions each asset, sources buyers from institutional, private and off-market channels, and manages the process through closing. Before a property comes to market, he analyzes sell-versus-hold and sell-versus-recapitalization outcomes so owners are armed with a menu of options.
He joined CBRE in May 2011 as an intern and advanced from financial analyst to co-Head of the team, so his pricing advice rests on his tenured underwriting expertise. He has advised on more than $17 billion of student housing investment sales and equity placements. His assignments include Sol at West Village at the University of California, Davis, the largest single-asset student housing sale in sector history, and numerous large-scale portfolio dispositions.
