CBRE announced that Andy Leatherman has joined its Dallas-Fort Worth Advisory & Transaction Services team as a Vice Chair. Leatherman will focus on representing office occupiers and offering strategic consulting services for CBRE’s clients.

“Andy has been a dominant force in the Dallas commercial real estate for over two decades, growing his business from the ground up to include multiple Fortune 500 clients,” said Brooke Armstrong, President of Advisory Services for Dallas-Fort Worth. “His client-centric approach and innate understanding of the local market are tremendous assets for our team as we strive to deliver market-leading results for our clients.”

A 20-year industry veteran, Leatherman has spent the entirety of his career at JLL, most recently serving as a managing director. His clients span a wide berth of industries, including financial services, legal, energy and advertising. In the last year, he has closed transactions valued at nearly $750 million.

“I’m very impressed by the investments that CBRE has made in the platform, tools, resources and people that are needed in today’s dynamic office environment,” said Leatherman. “I’ve always said that there is no better city to work in than Dallas, and I could not be more excited to expand the service that I am able to offer important clients.”

According to CBRE Research, DFW continues to outperform the U.S. and other large metro areas in terms of overall employment growth, which bodes well for office demand. Financial services firms added 10,700 new jobs in the last 12 months ending in August 2024, offsetting other office-using job loss in the metroplex during this time frame. Overall, the market’s sublease inventory dropped to a three-year low in Q3 2024 as gross leasing activity increased 5.5% year-over-year.
