Ben Wobschall Joins CBRE Data Center Capital Markets

CBRE announced that Ben Wobschall has joined the company as an executive vice president and will partner with CBRE's Vice Chairman, Kristina Metzger, on the Data Center Capital Markets team.

"Ben will be a great addition to our data center investment sales team," said John Frager, CBRE's executive managing director for San Diego and Hawaii. "He brings two decades of experience in institutional real estate investment management and direct experience in data center transactions."

Most recently, Mr. Wobschall served as managing director portfolio management for Principal Asset Management, leading the Principal Digital Real Estate Fund, an opportunistic data center investment vehicle launched in 2020.

Mr. Wobschall has worked in various positions at Principal, including with acquisitions and dispositions, where he directed real estate transactions in the Central U.S. He also led the company's efforts to establish a value-added acquisition program for data centers.

Throughout his 20-year career, Mr. Wobschall was also responsible for negotiating joint ventures and leading acquisitions, dispositions, and developments of data centers, industrial, office, retail and multifamily properties totaling over 28 million sq. ft. and with a total capitalization of $5 billion.

Mr. Wobschall attended the University of Northern Iowa, receiving a bachelor's degree in finance and real estate.
