Asia Pacific – April 1, 2026 – CBRE announced today the appointment of Neil Bear-Hetherington as Director, Data Centres, Capital Markets, Asia Pacific (APAC), further strengthening the firm’s ability to advise clients across the region’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector.
Bear-Heatherington joins the APAC platform from CBRE’s data centres team in Europe, where he advised investors, leading hyperscalers, financial institutions, life sciences, and quantitative trading firms on data centre acquisitions, colocation strategy, leasing, self-build planning, and sale and leaseback transactions.
He brings extensive experience executing data centre transactions across global markets, including the U.K., France, Nordics, Belgium, Romania, South Africa, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
Based in Singapore, Bear-Hetherington will advise data centre developers, operators, and investors across APAC on investment transactions, capital formation, debt issuance, and land strategies. He will work closely with CBRE’s Capital Advisory, Leasing, and Colocation teams to deliver integrated advice across the firm’s data centre platform, helping clients navigate accelerating demand driven by hyperscale cloud, neocloud, and AI infrastructure.
Robust demand for both colocation and hyperscale data centres is expected to continue driving strong investor interest in APAC. For the first time, CBRE has reclassified “data centres” from “alternatives” into its core sector universe in its 2026 Asia Pacific Investor Intentions Survey. The sector ranks as the fourth most preferred sector this year, following offices, industrial & logistics, and the living sector.
“The appointment reflects CBRE’s continued investment in our APAC data centre platform as capital deployment and development activity expand across the region. Neil specialises in the intersection of digital infrastructure and institutional capital, having advised the world’s largest financial institutions and will provide a seamless bridge for global capital seeking neocloud, AI and hyperscale occupiers looking to scale within the APAC region,” said Shun Endo, Head of Data Centres, Capital Markets, APAC, for CBRE.
