CBRE has announced the promotion of Sarah Cooley to Managing Director and Market Leader for Southern Virginia, which includes the firm’s Richmond and Norfolk offices. In addition, she will continue to serve on CBRE’s broader Mid-Atlantic Leadership Team, contributing to the development and execution of regional strategy.

In this role, Cooley will oversee day-to-day operations for all Advisory Services lines of business across a variety of disciplines in Southern Virginia.

Cooley joined CBRE’s Mid-Atlantic Leadership Team in 2019 as Senior Sales Director. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in re-establishing CBRE’s Southern Virginia business and was instrumental in advancing the firm’s growth strategy across the entire Mid-Atlantic region.

“Sarah has consistently demonstrated the ability to translate strategy into measurable results,” said Kyle Schoppmann, President, CBRE Mid-Atlantic. “Her leadership has strengthened our presence in key markets, and with this promotion, she is well-positioned to continue accelerating growth in Southern Virginia.

Cooley has been with CBRE since 2011, previously serving as Sales Director for the CBRE Chicago business before returning to her Virginia roots and relocating to Richmond in 2019. Prior to joining CBRE, she managed government event planning and organized conferences for PEPFAR at Courtesy Associates. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia.

“I’m honored to be stepping into the role of Market Leader and to have the opportunity to lead our talented teams in Southern Virginia,” said Cooley. “I look forward to building on our strong foundation, continuing to grow and evolve our markets, and ensuring we deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
