CBRE has expanded its Atlanta data center platform with the addition of Catherine Giel as First Vice President, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities at the intersection of power, land, and next-generation digital infrastructure.

Giel brings more than a decade of commercial real estate experience advising real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional owners, developers, and corporate occupiers on leasing strategy, acquisitions and dispositions, development planning, and long-term asset positioning. Her background in industrial landlord representation aligns directly with the accelerating demand created by hyperscale cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure growth across the Atlanta region and the broader Southeast.

Giel joins Mike Lash and CBRE’s Atlanta Data Center Solutions team to expand advisory services across site selection, entitlement strategy, utility coordination, lease and purchase structuring, and capital markets execution. Her institutional perspective and transaction experience will contribute to the group’s integrated solutions for clients deploying at scale.

“As Atlanta continues to scale as one of the most strategic digital infrastructure markets in the country, it is critical that we build a team capable of aligning land, power, and capital at the highest level,” said Lash. “Catherine’s institutional perspective and execution capability strengthen our ability to deliver for hyperscale and AI-driven clients operating at scale.”

Prior to joining CBRE, Giel served as Senior Vice President at Stream Realty Partners. She previously held advisory roles at both CBRE and Colliers International.
