CBRE Hires Brett Gray as Charlotte Market Leader

CBRE announced today that Brett Gray has joined as Senior Managing Director and Market Leader for its Charlotte, North Carolina business. Starting in November, Gray will oversee business operations and drive the market’s growth strategy for all Advisory Service lines of business, including leasing, sales, debt and structured finance, valuation, and property management.

Gray will succeed Compie Newman, who is transitioning to a new role within CBRE.

Since 2017, Gray has served as Cushman & Wakefield’s Managing Principal in Charlotte, growing the company’s regional business through acquisitions in the Triad and South Carolina. His extensive expertise covers a wide range of areas in commercial real estate, including investor services, project and account management for Fortune 500 companies, leadership, and mergers and acquisitions. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive growth through business development and client service, earning him a place among North Carolina's 500 Most Influential Leaders in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

In addition to his professional achievements, Gray is a valuable member of the Charlotte community. He currently serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. He previously served on the boards of the Charlotte Rescue Mission and YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
