CBRE has announced the opening of its new 17,500-sq.-ft. office on the eighth floor of Oswald Tower at 950 Main Avenue in Cleveland’s Flats neighborhood. The firm has relocated from the second floor of the same building, where it delivers leasing and property management services.

The new office is part of CBRE’s Workplace360 program showcasing the company’s “Future of Work” space standards, including innovative technology and a wide variety of collaborative spaces designed to support hybrid working.

Since CBRE launched its Workplace360 program, it has continually evolved it by leveraging insights gained from opening more than 100 Workplace360 offices across the globe. A cornerstone of the Workplace360 model involves office design that improves connection, collaboration, and productivity. CBRE continues to strategically implement a “free address” approach that assigns team neighborhoods, aiming to increase the opportunity to connect with coworkers and expand an individual’s workspace options throughout the day. As many companies move to hybrid work models, a free-address approach allows for any workstation or office to be used by all employees who are in the office on a given day, maximizing workplace vibrancy and mobility.

“950 Main Avenue is one of Cleveland’s premier trophy office towers and CBRE has been an anchor tenant since the property was built in 2013,” said Andrew Coleman, managing director for CBRE in Cleveland. “We’re excited to renew our commitment to downtown Cleveland and expand into a larger footprint to support our growing team. Our new space features modern workplace designs, including the abundance of real materials and plant scaping, along with musical enhancements that provide the space a unique and distinctive Cleveland feel.”

The office has several different work areas, including focus rooms, huddle rooms, conference rooms, project rooms, and an innovation center dubbed “The Studio,” which fosters team collaboration. There is also a wellness room that allows for a quiet and private space for employees to use. The main lobby, known as the “Heart,” features a large community table, a digital media display and a café, all surrounded by natural design elements such as tall planters, suspended greenery, and abundant natural light from high ceilings.

Additionally, new technology is installed throughout the office to encourage and support remote and in-person collaboration between employees. This technology includes an LED media wall with video conference room capabilities and a multidirectional camera system, Zoom rooms, the visual display tool called Liquid Galaxy, and a whiteboard that allows for real-time collaboration and note-taking.

The office’s design was inspired by Cleveland’s rich musical heritage and cultural identity. Each conference room is named after iconic local music venues, such as the Agora Theater, Beachland Ballroom, and Blossom Music Center. The living room, adjacent to the Heart and intended for guests' comfort and entertainment, features curved glass elements, a curated vinyl record wall and a functional record player, all of which pay homage to the city’s rock 'n' roll legacy. There are also several artwork pieces showcasing numerous Cleveland-based artists and their work strewn throughout the office, which were curated in partnership with a local nonprofit.
