Four Member NAI Affinity Fort Collins Team Join CBRE

Schaefer was a co-founder of Affinity Real Estate Partners, Inc. (“Affinity”) 22 years ago and has been the CEO for the past 11 years. Affinity conducted business as NAI Affinity, a part of the NAI Global Network, for the past seven years. He brings over 25 years of commercial real estate experience and will join CBRE has a senior vice president. Deeply involved in the Fort Collins community, Schaefer has been named as one of the 50 Most Influential Business Leaders in Northern Colorado, by BizWest in 2023, 2025 and 2026 – most recently named most influential in the real estate category in 2026. Besides this honor, he was named the 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year by Colorado State University’s Everitt Real Estate Center, he was a past Chair of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Board, and a former President of the Northern Colorado Commercial Association of Realtors.

Hallauer was a key member of the Affinity team for over 17 years, serving as president of NAI Affinity for the past seven years. He joins CBRE as a senior vice president. Hallauer has held many leadership positions for non-profit and trade organizations in Fort Collins including being a co-founder and co-chairman of the Northern Colorado Urban Land Institute (ULI) Committee, serving on the ULI Colorado State Executive Committee and State Multifamily Product Council, serving as President of the Board of Directors and Asset Management Committee Chairman for Neighbor to Neighbor and serving on the Development Committee for CARE Housing. He is also a member of the board of Upstate Colorado Economic Development and the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce.

Partners Schaefer and Hallauer join with Tom Reznik as Vice President and Ashley Hergenreder as team transaction manager.

The team has total deal consideration of over $1 billion in Northern Colorado, including key regional catalyst and development projects. They have experience managing the transactions for master-planned communities, multi-family residential, medical, industrial and retail locations for nationally recognized consumer brands, and shaping the landscape of Northern Colorado.

Schaefer’s and Hallauer’s sister real estate investment company Affinity Partners, LLC will continue to operate as usual and is unaffected by the brokerage team joining CBRE.
