Seoul, February 13, 2025 – CBRE Korea, the world's largest commercial real estate services company, announced the establishment of CBRE Investment Advisors, marking the official launch of its comprehensive financial services. This initiative expands beyond traditional advisory roles focused on acquisitions and dispositions, providing an integrated suite of services encompassing investment advisory, financial structuring, funding, and lending consultancy throughout the investment lifecycle—from inception to liquidation.

CBRE Investment Advisors, a subsidiary of CBRE Korea, was established and operated in accordance with the Act on Capital Markets and Financial Investment Business. CBRE Investment Advisors officially launched as an independent financial firm in November 2024 and will begin offering full-scale services this year. Key offerings include financial advisory for real estate transactions, investment and financial consulting for development projects, business structure design, and advisory services tailored for international investors. The firm aims to deliver strategic advisory that connects investors with lucrative real estate opportunities, alongside comprehensive financial structuring and funding services that span initial business model formulation to staged financing and project refinancing.

CBRE Investment Advisors

The comprehensive financial services provided by CBRE Investment Advisors are designed to enhance value-add strategies across the entire commercial real estate investment spectrum and realize tangible returns—from early-stage development to operational management, remodeling, and eventual sale. By leveraging CBRE’s extensive global network, the firm will systematically facilitate investor connections, creating synergistic value across CBRE Korea's specialized service areas in acquisition, disposition, and development.

In its pursuit of establishing a competitive edge, CBRE Investment Advisors has assembled a team of seasoned professionals with deep industry expertise. Leading the charge is CEO Hyung-Chul Yoon, previously a Managing Director at Meritz Securities’ Real Estate Finance Division, where he oversaw significant financing initiatives for major development projects. His portfolio includes funding for the Magok CP4 site acquisition, project financing refinancing for the Donuimun D Tower, and equity investment in the Mokdong retail development. The team also includes several experts with extensive experience in commercial real estate finance and development, establishing collaborative frameworks with specialized services within CBRE Korea.

The establishment of CBRE Investment Advisors highlights a global trend in the real estate sector where advisory services are evolving beyond traditional buy-sell consulting to encompass real estate lending and structured finance. In the current landscape, characterized by market downturns and an increase in distressed assets, specialized financial advisory—rooted in an understanding of unique asset structures and staged funding requirements—has become increasingly critical.

CEO Hyung-Chul Yoon CEO at CBRE Investment Advisors emphasized, “In the contemporary commercial real estate investment landscape, the key differentiator is not merely the act of buying and selling; it is the provision of customized financial strategies that guide investors from initial development stages through to successful monetization.” He further stated, “CBRE Investment Advisors is set to redefine the investment paradigm in the domestic commercial real estate market by fostering new synergies between our unparalleled expertise and global network.”

CBRE Group, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, stands as the largest full-service real estate services firm globally by revenue as of 2022. CBRE Korea, established in 1999, has consistently ranked as the top firm in the commercial real estate investment advisory sector, achieving global leadership for 13 consecutive years and domestic leadership for 5 consecutive years as of 2023.
