New York-based Montauk Lobster House Opens First South Florida Location

CBRE has arranged a new retail lease at 1549 Sunset Drive in Coral Gables, Florida, on behalf of New York-based Montauk Lobster House. The location celebrated its grand opening on November 16.

Alex Cesar with CBRE Retail arranged the lease on behalf of Montauk Lobster House. Bob Burstein with KW Commercial represented the landlord, Beverly Hills Café VIII, Inc.

Owned and operated by the Flores family, Montauk Lobster House opened in Montauk in March 2018 and has since opened two additional locations in New York: a second location in Montauk and one in Sag Harbour. The Miami location marks Montauk Lobster House’s first location outside of New York.

“We are excited to become part of the community and look forward to growing our hospitality business here,” said Diego Flores, the owner of Montauk Lobster House.

The South Florida location features 3,500 sq. ft. of dining and kitchen space as well as a 1,500-sq.-ft. outdoor patio. In addition to sit down service, the seafood restaurant also provides catering and private gathering services.

“The owners had been studying the Miami market and looking for the right space for over a year,” said CBRE First Vice President Alex Cesar. “They fell in love with the Coral Gables and South Miami submarket, which has a year-round population.”

The space at 1549 Sunset Drive in Coral Gables was previously occupied by Gringo’s Oyster House.
