CBRE announced that Scott Garlick – a prominent, local commercial real estate executive and broker – has joined its Occupier Services team in Tampa as an Executive Vice President. In this role, Garlick will focus on providing leasing and consulting services to office occupiers throughout Tampa Bay, as well as multi-market leasing services to office and industrial occupiers nationally.
Garlick has nearly 18 years of industry experience and joined CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as Managing Principal since 2017. In that position, he directed the company’s business in the Tampa metro area, leading its growth strategy and overseeing its leasing, capital markets, asset management, valuation, and project and development businesses. As a player-coach, he was also the market-leading office occupier broker.
“Scott’s reputation in Tampa is second to none, and I’m proud to welcome a professional of his caliber to our team,” said Mike DiBlasi, Senior Managing Director and North Florida Market Leader for CBRE. “His move is proof positive of CBRE’s position as the top commercial real estate firm in the region. Moreover, his long-held relationships and expertise as an occupier rep will strengthen the services we provide to local and national clients.”
“While I’ve been blessed to be a manager of great teams and people over the last seven years, I’m excited to focus on the main reason I got into this business: adding unmatched value to clients’ real estate needs,” said Garlick. “The culture of CBRE’s Tampa office alone was a strong draw, but the firm’s scale, platform and resources made it the right place for me and my clients in this next chapter of my career.”
Garlick has received numerous industry recognitions for his work, including Deal of the Year awards from the Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of Realtors and NAIOP. He is a graduate of Leadership Tampa, where he also served as Sports Day Chair and as a member of its Selection Committee. He is a past board member of USF Real Estate Advisory.
Before his time in commercial real estate, Garlick played professional soccer as a goalkeeper with several Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, including DC United, the Tampa Bay Mutiny, and the Colorado Rapids. During his 12 years in soccer, he won the MLS Cup, InterAmerican Cup, and Concacaf Champions Cup. He is also a two-time MLS All Star and a two-time runner-up for the US Open Cup.
