Program Management and Construction Management
The University of Maryland’s Department of Capital Projects is responsible for the design and construction of capital projects for the University of Maryland College Park, seven University System of Maryland institutions, and two regional education centers. The department oversees the Capital Project Program, a comprehensive design and construction program to support the university’s goal of being a leading public institution of higher education.
The University of Maryland’s Department of Capital Projects contracted CBRE Heery, Inc. to provide project management services on an as needed basis for the department’s capital design and construction management program.
Our team of project managers, project engineers and inspectors worked on-site at the College Park campus and side-by-side with the university’s staff, supporting them on various assignments as needed. Projects included both new construction and major renovations and consisted of a variety of facility-types, including residence halls, dining facilities, lecture halls, computer centers, parking lots, gymnasia and libraries. Individual project budgets varied from $500,000 to $200 million.
