Jim Shiebler, CCIM, CEC is a Senior Vice President with CBRE Institutional Properties in Tampa, specializing in the invest sales of multi-tenant shopping centers and the single tenant net-leased restaurants. He partners with James Garner to represent clients in the acquisition, disposition, and exchange of investment-grade retail properties. Throughout his career, he has completed transactions totaling more than $825 million in sales volume.
Mr. Shiebler transitioned to commercial real estate investment sales after holding various prestigious executive positions operating hotels, resorts, casinos, and restaurants. His clients rely on his comprehensive understanding of retail properties, along with his knowledge of Florida, to maximize return on their investment. These services include, but are not limited to, advisory, underwriting, valuation, sale and acquisition strategies for investors and developers.
Before joining CBRE, Mr. Shiebler was a Senior Vice President with Marcus & Millichap Investment Services. During his tenure, he received six title promotions within six years and received various recognition, including Rookie of the Year (2016), Break Out Agent of the Year (2017), Sales Achievement Awards (2017-2023), and was named the top broker in Marcus & Millichap’s Tampa office (2023). His team with James Garner was consistently ranked the top overall brokerage team, out of all asset classes, in Marcus & Millichap’s Tampa office. Additionally, Mr. Shiebler is a six time consecutive CoStar Power Broker Award Winner (2017-2022).

I was impressed by the amount of time Jim spent on the listing, and the nights, weekends and early morning hours he dedicated to in the end getting the property sold regardless of Covid difficulties. It was not an easy job, but Jim stayed on the task and worked with me to get it sold in the end as smoothly as could have been anticipated. Jim brought a great deal of diligence and knowledge during the consideration process as to why it was in our best interest to seriously consider selling our St. Armand’s multi-tenant property. Jim also expertly crafted the story for the buyer pool that most effectively articulated the value of the asset and defended against all attempts to negotiate the list price. Jim generated great interest within 10 days of listing the property. Jim worked hard to generate offers and, as a result, he placed the property under contract with a buyer and ensured that they would perform on schedule. Although the buyer angled their dialogue and offer in an effort to secure a reduced price, Jim was able to successfully defend the list price and overall value of the asset. We ultimately selected the best buyer and offer that yielded a sale price that was 97% of the list price. We successfully closed shortly thereafter yielding our three-tenant retail property at $834 per square foot.
