Mike Vannelli joined the Minneapolis CBRE Capital Markets office in 2019 and brings over a decade of experience specializing in commercial real estate debt and structured finance. Mike facilitates the placement of debt and equity capital for the acquisition, construction, and refinance of commercial and multifamily properties. Mike is responsible for structuring real estate financings on behalf of private and institutional investors, as well as fostering relationships throughout CBRE’s platform of institutional capital sources which consists of life insurance companies, pension funds, debt funds, CMBS, banks, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA. Mike has been instrumental in the underwriting, origination, and closing of over $2 billion in debt and structured finance transactions throughout his career, the majority of which have been facilitated on a correspondent basis through life insurance company lenders, and as a direct lender for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Mike’s DSF expertise also includes collaboration amongst the CBRE Minneapolis Institutional Properties sales teams whereby he secures debt capital on behalf of buyers for commercial and multifamily properties which the IP teams are marketing for sale.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate Mike captained the University of Minnesota men’s hockey team. He was also selected in the 2003 NHL entry draft and played four years of professional hockey.
