CBRE has announced that Gary Scalise has joined the firm as Managing Director and Market Leader for Pittsburgh.
In this role, Scalise will be responsible for day-to-day operations for all Pittsburgh Advisory Service lines of business, including leasing, sales, valuations and debt and structured finance across all property types.
Scalise’s hire follows the transition of Mamadou Baldé, who led CBRE’s Pittsburgh market from 2022 before assuming leadership of the firm’s Greater Philadelphia market in September 2025.
“Gary's leadership experience, deep local ties and ability to manage complex challenges made him the natural choice to lead our Pittsburgh market,” said CBRE’s Michael Copella, Senior Managing Director and Eastern Midwest Regional Leader. “We’re pleased to welcome Gary to CBRE and are confident his proven leadership, coupled with his extensive market knowledge, will help drive continued growth across our business.”
Scalise brings more than 25 years of business development, client relations and office management experience to CBRE. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Ernst & Young, where he led key strategic accounts while guiding high-performing teams and partnering with clients to design and execute solutions, strengthening their financial performance. During his tenure, he built and managed strategic partnerships across the financial services sector, resulting in consistent year-over-year growth and bolstering the firm’s market position.
In addition, Scalise has held senior leadership roles across several financial services, consulting and technology organizations, including KPMG, EMC Corporation (now Dell Technologies) and Green Cabbage. He is also actively involved in the Pittsburgh community, serving in leadership and board positions with several local nonprofit and civic organizations, including Fownes Foundation, Oakmont Country Club, Achieva Support Service and Duquesne University’s Palumbo‑Donahue School of Business.
“I’m ready to step into this fantastic role and work alongside such a talented team in Pittsburgh,” said Scalise. “This is a market with strong long‑term fundamentals and I’m looking forward to driving growth, supporting our clients and continuing to build CBRE’s presence in the region.”
