CBRE Strengthens its Baja-California Operations

CBRE has strengthened its operations in the northern Baja-California region, adding Rafael Garcia-Roviros as a senior vice president who will establish a CBRE office in Tijuana.

Garcia-Roviros and the team in Tijuana will provide enhanced services to CBRE's clients on both sides of the border and deliver localized expertise in the growing region. The northern Baja-California region forms a tightly integrated economic unit, with San Diego's high-tech sector thriving alongside Tijuana's manufacturing, while San Diego benefits from Tijuana's labor pool.

"The San Diego-Tijuana border has become a key point for companies seeking to take advantage of the location for nearshoring manufacturing and assembly and leveraging a skilled workforce," said Pete Schippits, president of Advisory Services for CBRE's west region "Rafael and his team's knowledge and expertise will be key in advising local clients and delivering exceptional real estate solutions."

García-Rovirosa joins CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as a managing director for Mexico. During his 20-year career, García-Rovirosa has worked for several institutional developers focusing on industrial real estate in Mexico and the U.S. He has led the acquisition, refurbishment, stabilization and sale of close to 8.5 million sq. ft. of buildings in Cd. Juarez, Monterrey and Tijuana.

Ramin Salehi, vice president at CBRE, will be based in the San Diego office and will assist García-Rovirosa in the northern Baja-California region. For the last five years, Salehi has specialized in sales and occupier representation throughout the south county San Diego and northern Baja-California markets.
